Grilled Bacon Wrapped Chicken with Sweet Black Pepper and Rosemary

Grilled Bacon Wrapped Chicken with Sweet Black Pepper and Rosemary

This Grilled Bacon Wrapped Chicken makes the perfect easy dinner, game day grub, or backyard bbq meal. It’s full of fresh flavor and calls for just four ingredients!

I love this chicken. Love. Love. Love. Maybe because I’m obsessed with rosemary. Maybe because I love grilled chicken. Maybe because I love this sweet black pepper marinade. Maybe because I love how well it all just marries together. Maybe it’s that bacon. Whatever. It’s goo-oood.

This grilled bacon wrapped chicken is straight out of flavor-town. It’s got a bit of a kick from the pepper, a hint of sweet, smokiness from the bacon, and a great earthy taste from the rosemary to tie it all together. It’s perfect for dinner, tailgating, or any time you want a little something special and different from the grill.

The chicken marinates for at least an hour but you can always start it before heading out for the day and you’ll come home to some flavorful meat. The easiest part about the marinade is that it comes right from the bottle, no mixing, chopping, cutting, measuring multiple ingredients, or whisking required. Because sometimes, that’s just too much work in the morning. All you do is pour your marinade over the chicken and let it chill. Perfect!

This is one of those dishes that will please the guys and the girls. The guys will be happy because there’s that peppery kickPut some bacon on it and you’ve got yourself a manly meal. Plus everyone loves bacon. And all the girls will be happy because chicken is a nice lean protein and then there’s some nice fresh, green rosemary. The perfect blend of flavors, protein, and tastes to please any palette. My work here is done, guys. Enjoy!

Cook Time15 minutes

Total Time15 minutes

2 lb. chicken tenders

8 slices bacon*

3/4 C Stubb's Sweet Black Pepper Anytime Sauce, divided

1 Tbsp chopped fresh rosemary

Add the chicken and 1/2 a cup of the marinade to a resealable bag and refrigerate at least an hour or up to 24 hours.

When the chicken has marinated, preheat grill to 500 degrees. Cut the bacon slices in half and wrap half a slice of bacon around each chicken tender and secure with toothpicks. Sprinkle the rosemary over the top of the chicken.

Grill the chicken about 8 minutes per side or until the bacon is cooked through, brushing the remaining 1/4 cup of reserved marinade on the chicken in the last few minutes. Serve with additional sauce and an extra sprinkle of fresh rosemary if desired.

I used 8 slices of bacon because two pounds of chicken came out to be 16 tenders. Use a half a piece of bacon per chicken tender. You may need more or less depending on how your chicken is packaged.Do not use thick cut bacon for this recipe, it will not cook through properly without the chicken overcooking.

Dear Sharon, you are speaking my language sista! Bacon. Also the language of all my boys. What a scrumptious recipe. And a black pepper marinade??? Ooo-weeee….love this. We will definitely be savoring these tenders over football!!!

Bacon-wrapped chicken is just not something I would ever have thought of, but now that you mention it, I’m going to be obsessed until I try it out. Great idea no matter what barbecue sauce – and I’m partial to homemade:)

I made these several nights ago and what a hit!! My husband raved over them and stated it was one of the best things have made since we have been married – 11 years! Wow. The black pepper marinade is right on target and is addicting! So delish. I’ve been splashing it over everything this week. Will definitely be making this again – probably this weekend!

P.S. I’ve made a number of items from this blog as my husband is diabetic. Appreciate the gluten-free POV. On target and always so good!

Ruthie I am SO happy to hear how much you and your husband enjoyed this chicken and some of my other recipes! We too have been splashing the marinade on everything, it’s got that addicting sweet kick. What kind of sweeteners do you use for your husband? I’ve been doing A LOT of experimenting with coconut palm sugar, which is low glycemic and really like it. I’ve been trying to cut back on white sugar, it’s so hard!

Ugh. The sweetner thing is so hard! Not doing so well in that dept. I’ve purchased Stevia and then tried Truvia, but the aftertaste and the bitter factor was not palatable. I’ve set those aside and for now, have gone back to raw cane sugar. Are you having luck with coconut palm sugar? I’m not familiar with that at all. I will have to look into it and see if it is available locally. Ohhh, and I’m definitely also going to be making a batch of the applebutter! I had no idea it was so crockpot friendly!

The Best Healthy Fast Food Options

Fast-food stores are plentiful and fast food has the reputation of being unhealthy, while an increasing number of large chains are adding more nutritious options to their menus.

Sockets that allow more customization of orders tend to have lower calorie or more feeder selections. However, there are currently healthy options on the menu of the largest fast-food chains.

In this article, we'll look at the overall calorie, fat and saturated fat content to find some of the healthiest options that seven big fast-food chains have to offer.

Note, however, that calories and fat are only two aspects of how healthy a meal is fed. If a person eats only fast food, it is not possible to get the necessary nutrients such as vitamins and fiber.

1. Subway

Sandwich with cheese and vegetables

One person can customize Subway sandwiches to choose healthy fillings.

Metro specialize in deli style sandwiches or "sub". As a person can customize every "sub", Subway can be one of the healthiest healthy fast-food chains.

Some of the best sandwich options are on the Subway's Fresh Fit menu. The 6-inch Turkey Breast sandwich with nine wheat bread contains 250 calories and 3 grams of fat, including 0.5 g of saturated fat.

A healthy vegetarian option, Veggie Delite in nine wheat bread. This "bottom" contains only 2 g calories, does not contain 2 g total fat and saturated fat. It also has one of the lowest sodium levels (salt) compared to other sandwiches.

Subway also offers salads that can be a low-calorie alternative to a sandwich. All salads include lettuce, tomatoes, spinach, onions, cucumbers, green peppers and olives.

2. Taco Bell

Taco Bell is another great fast-food chain with a variety of healthy options. The ability to personalize each order allows people to choose more vegetable-like nutrients.

According to Taco Bell's website, three-quarters of its menus are under 500 calories. Some of the lowest calorie options are the Fresco menu, which uses regular sauce and cheese instead of vegetable based salsa.

One of the healthiest options is Chicken Soft Taco. Each taco contains about 170 calories, 8 g fat, containing only 3 g of saturated fat.

Bean Burrito is a vegetarian option containing 11 g fat, 380 calories, including 4 g of saturated fat.

3. Chipotle

Vegetable burritos

Vegetarian options are lower in fat than meat options.

Chipotle is a Mexican-style chain that specializes in tacos and burritos. Similar to Subway and Taco Bell, Chipotle allows people to customize their meals to include healthy choices.

Healthy options are burritos or white rice instead of white rice. In a chicken bowl bowl containing fresh tomato salsa and brown rice, there are 415 calories, 13 g fat and 4 g saturated fat.

For a lower calorie, vegetarian option, people can choose a plate of bean curd, brown rice and a sofritas patty with lettuce. It contains 365 calories, 10 g fat and 1.5 g saturated fat. Adding sauce will increase the number of calories.

4. McDonald's

McDonald's had the reputation of being unhealthy, but they recently reaffirmed themselves to offer a variety of fresh and nutritious ingredients. Some of these changes may be cosmetics, while McDonald's has better options.

Fillet-O-Fish contains 390 calories and 4 g of saturated fat from 19 g of total fat. Bacon Ranch Grilled Chicken Salad contains only 320 calories and 6 g of saturated fat from a total of 14 g.

5. Burger King

Burger King is one of the largest burger chains in the United States, but has a limited number of healthy options. But some choices are a little healthier than others.

It contains a normal, simple hamburger, 10 g total fat, 3.5 g saturated fat, and 240 calories. Grilled Chicken Sandwich contains 470 calories, 3.5 g saturated fat and 19 g fat.

BK Veggie Burger can be a healthier option among these examples. Contains 2,5 g of saturated fat, 390 calories and 17 g of fat.

6. Wendy

Baked potato with knife, sour cream and cheese filling on plate

Baked potatoes can be a healthy fast-food option.

Wendy is another common fast-food chain that allows people to personalize their orders to make their choices healthier.

The menu of the chain is not abundant in healthy options, but some meals are able to customize to lower the calorie content.

Salads are also available, and if a person chooses some of the half-size salad choices, they can stay below 500 calories.

With a few vegetarian options at Wendy's, Sour Cream and Chive Baked Potatoes
