Gluten Free Protein Bars with Chocolate Potato Chips
It is very easy to make low carbohydrate gluten-free protein bars. You can customize your favorite add-ons with chocolate.
One of my favorite cookies is protein sticks and I've been wanting to make my own carbohydrates for a while. This is my first attempt, but after calculating the nutritional value, the amount of protein in each serving is not that high.
If you want to get more protein, you can cut additional ingredients to increase protein per serving. However, you probably do not want to overdo the protein as it can be converted into sugar by a process called gluconeogenesis. So it is good to know the low amount of carbohydrates daily.
However, these are rather delicious gluten-free protein bars. They're also much healthier than most of the low-carb protein bars I've bought.
My husband took a Magic Bullet NutriBullet blender / mixer for me last month for Christmas and was testing during the last month. I have found that this mixer is an excellent machine for making powdered sugar from low carbohydrate sweeteners containing normal granules.
I can do the NutriBullet with the powder sweetener as I need it. This is great for low carbohydrate granules sweeteners such as Natvia, which are not sold as powdered sugar.
Granular sweeteners can also be powdered in a normal food processor. However, my processor is 14 cups larger and smaller than the Magic Bullet blender, which is more suited to powder the smaller sweetener series. And the personal body makes the blender in just a few seconds.
I bought 1/4 cup of Natvia powder in NutriBullet for these low carbohydrate gluten-free protein bars. It was done in 5 seconds.
I'm not sure why I've never thought of getting one of these blenders before, because it's very useful and I really love it. I also enjoy making low-carb sweets on this powerful small machine.
I chose to put the dried chopped coconut into low carbohydrate gluten-free protein bars. Added to the kitchen robot to mix well with cashew oil.
Sunflower seeds and chocolate pieces were mixed in the food processor instead of being mixed. So they remained intact. This is really a matter of preference. And that's what you add to the mix.
Instead of keeping the seeds as a whole, you may want to mix them with seeds or perhaps add a different seed or nut. In fact, you can really use any kind of nut or seed oil you want. I chose cashew nuts without a strong taste, but next time I could try sunflower seed oil.
You'll want to align the pan with parchment paper so that all gluten-free protein bars are removed immediately. Although a 9 × 13 inch ceiling could be used, I thought the bars were too thin. A 7 x 11 inch pan is a better size to be used for the amount specified in this recipe to obtain the appropriate thickness for the snack sticks.
A spatula works well to spread the mixture into the pot. To get a proper top, I ran over the top of a spoon. After the mixture is spread evenly over the pot, it must enter the refrigerator to harden.
The rods harden within about 1-2 hours in the refrigerator. Then remove all hardened bar paper from the pan and cut in portion sizes or in square form.
You should not remove the hardened mixture from the parchment paper until it is cut into pieces. In this way, the bars do not stick to the cutting board and remove directly from the parchment paper.
