Cheese Stuffed Turkey stew perfect for homemade meatballs with marinara sauce, a family favorite in my home and school meal on a busy night! They are made without cereal, low carb, keto and gluten-free!
How to make turkey meatballs
You may or may not be in love with a casserole. If you're hurt by too many dry recipes that make you feel you can never trust me again, I can relate. I've been there.
But given the right balance of time and fluid, you have a recipe that the family can win.
It's my favorite way to add flavor to this slightly soft, succulent turkey meat. It is cooked in slow-cooked homemade marinas filled with spices and cheese, making it a recipe that you often ask for from your family.
Slow Cooker or Baked Turkey Meatballs
Everyone loves meatballs, so filling them with cheese was just what I think it should be. Cheese lovers family. I made this recipe with both mozzarella and fontina, both were equally delicious. Fontina, as you can see from the pictures, is a bit more stupid.
If you don't have a slow cooker, I've added recipes to bake in the oven. Either way delicious!
This recipe makes 2 dozen, so you need to stay long enough.
Warning: If you have a son like my son at home, you may not have left anything. However, after a week of barely eating, my own sick son enjoyed 8 of the first night when his appetite returned. Real story.
Beat eggs, pork shells, cheese and spices in a large bowl.
Add the ground turkey and stir until it comes together.
Make the mixture into 24 meatballs.
Place 1 cube of cheese at the center of each meatball. Set aside.
Mix the marinara sauce ingredients in a separate bowl.
Pour enough sauce to cover the bottom of the casserole.
Place the meatballs in a casserole dish and cover with the remaining sauce.
Cover and cook for 3 hours high or 6 hours low.
Follow the recipe until you put the sauce in the casserole dish. Instead, place half of the sauce in a 9 x 13 tray. Add all the meatballs and cover with the remaining sauce. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, or when the turkey is cut and opened, it is no longer pink.

We are also a family that loves cheese orum I don't know which one I want to try more, fontina or mozzarella. I think I'il have to go halfway! And since I have a young child at home (and a swimmer there), I think it would be a great dinner.
You can't go wrong with a stuffed meatball. I love the way you use two kinds of cheese and grinded turkey. I'll fix your recipe and hopefully try it soon. Looks like something my family would really enjoy!
I had a love / hate relationship with mine. Then I realized that my casserole was much more "hot" than the others. After learning how to set the cooking time, I fell in love again. These meatballs look great and fontina is my favorite cheese by far!

Wow!! I did this because the place had turkey and there was no recipe. I had to change the oats to quinoa because I am celiac and they were all delicious !! I also didn't have time to put them in the pot and fry in the frying pan and pour the sauce on top and leave to simmer for a few minutes. I don't think I'm ever gonna eat ground meat again! I've just opened my recipe slips and I find a few mistakes when converting recipes to a new slips. This is one that makes all my portion sizes crazy as unrealistic as 1 gram! Anyway, I've updated the time issue here, thanks for letting me know. Yes, make the meatballs, roll, add to the casserole.
I made the same recipe I came out a few months ago, but it doesn't say anything about 1/2 cup of oatmeal and pork shells.
