Crispy Baked Chicken Thighs
The crispy and juicy baked chicken thighs make for a perfect weekday meal! This chicken recipe is incredibly easy to make, it is more delicious and tastier than traditional fried chicken - you will love it.
Crispy Baked Chicken Thighs
I liked KFC chicken as a kid, but my favorite part was crispy skin full of plants and flavor. Actually, I might have eaten skin more than meat!
Today, I don't eat KFC anymore (for obvious reasons), but I still love soft, juicy chicken with crisp, tasty skin. And that's where my baked chicken thighs come from. With avocado oil and plenty of dried herbs, you can create crispy cooked chicken that the whole family will love. And you may feel better knowing that you are healthier.
Can you use boneless skinless chicken thighs in this recipe? Of course. However, if you're going to taste, I recommend using boneless and skinned chicken thighs. Skin moisture and boned chicken locks only become more delicious. It's also cheaper. Win win.
How to Bake Chicken Thighs
Dry the chicken. Use a paper towel to dry the chicken and remove condensation from the refrigerator.
Mix chicken, oil and herbs. In a large bowl, mix 2/3 of the chicken, avocado oil and herb spice.
Place the chicken on the shelf. A shelf at the top of a baking tray circulates the air around the chicken, making it more alive. Sprinkle over the remaining spices.
Cook the chicken. Cook the chicken thighs for 35-40 minutes or until the chicken is cooked.
Tips for the best cooked chicken thighs
Reminder: Do Not Wash Chicken. It is a general mistake that you should rinse after bringing the chicken home from the store. As USDA says, it is impossible to cross-contaminate your kitchen and anything nearby (your sink, faucet, counter, etc.), as water removes all bacteria and washed the chicken. You can be sure that heat from cooking will kill existing bacteria.
Use a Rack if possible. The shelf not only allows air to circulate, but also raises the chicken up the edge of the baking tray. If you do not have a shelf, use a larger baking tray with space between the chicken for fruit juices spread between the chickens.
Many use Herbs and Spices. This recipe may look like too much herbs and spices (7 teaspoons) but trust me, it's an excellent amount. This is just under 1 teaspoon of spice per chicken thigh and covers the chicken with garlic, onion, red pepper and herbs for the best taste.
Stealing Chicken Thighs. Most people overcook the chickens because they take it out of the oven when the internal temperature reaches 165F. However, after the chicken is removed from the oven, it continues to cook. So take the chicken out at 160F and after 5 minutes of rest you will see that the internal temperature is 165F. Relaxing also allows the fruit juices to redistribute in the chicken.
Remove the chicken thighs from the refrigerator and allow them to reach room temperature.
Mix all herbs and spices in a small bowl.
Place the chicken in a large mixing bowl. Add 2/3 of the oil and spice mixture. Use your hands to cover all sides of the chicken and even under the skin.
Place the chicken on a baking tray on a shelf. Sprinkle the remaining spice mixture over the chicken.
Cook the chicken meat for 35-40 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees fahrenheit. You can also open the upper chickens for 2-3 minutes for superior crispness. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

I made this dinner today as a substitute. I prepared the pesto and used parmesan cheese melted in tilapia and made crispy chicken thighs if the kids didn't like it. The parmesan tilapia with pesto was a big hit.
Tonight we did with the sticks - it was gorgeous! I also enjoy your blog and YouTube videos. I noticed that you are using a stylish instant reading meat thermometer in your video. Could you share the source? Thank you :)
Thank you for submitting this recipe. I'm on a limited diet for digestive problems and I've never cooked chicken thighs before (although I love them!) Because I was afraid of overcooking or overcooking them. Somehow your recipe encouraged me to say, değil It's not that hard, orum so I'm making them tonight! Thank you for giving me the courage to do something I've wanted to learn for a long time!
Thank you very much, Kim! And good for you! I wasn't a big cook before 4 autoimmune diagnoses were made. This blog helped me learn how to cook for myself and decide how to remove some food from my diet. I hope your chicken will be great and you will find other recipes accessible on my website! :)
I found this recipe yesterday morning and untied it immediately. Been with my daughter for lunch and it was amazing! Crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside. Definitely a keeper!
I made this recipe for dinner (along with some seasoned green beans) and my family LOVED it! So, crispy, juicy and soft. Absolutely delicious. I will definitely do it again. Much better than KFC! Thank you!
This will definitely be a weekly stapler at home. Sooooo very tasty and friendly. I didn't see the hips in the store, so I bought a perfectly fried chicken fryer that was cut and cooked for 40 minutes, leaving it in the pan to cook for another 5-10 minutes.
My husband and I loved this chicken dinner. My only problem is that you can jump all over the oven and make the house smell like chicken (isn't that all bad?). Is this because I forgot to dry the chicken before? If I think this will happen again, I won't do it again. I've never read this to others. Your opinion, please.
This is weird, like I never jumped or smoked. I would double-check the temperature and, yes, make sure the oils and plants are completely dry before scrubbing. Be sure to watch the video above as you describe it step-by-step in the recipe - and maybe you can determine where the events differ. At least you liked the recipe! I hope your next party is perfect. :)
Hello there! It had a similar oil smell but I didn't smoke when I first tried this recipe. I've done it 4 more times since ... I think I've used too much oil for the first time and I've made the oven shelf very high. Now you just smell this wonderfully freshly cooked chicken? If you still have a problem, maybe you could try skinless hips? They're still incredibly tasty boneless / skinless.
I've done this several times now and it was delicious every time. Even my 2-year-old who didn't like meat kept coming back to ask for more. You're doing really great things, Lisa. Can't wait to get another recipe!
I did it for the first time and I ate it. I don't usually cook chicken calves like I don't like meat in the bone, but they were delicious. I served them with some rice. Thank you for such an easy, delicious recipe.
I made this recipe last week, from your first site, it was great. I can't wait to eat her and you're right, it didn't take long. In addition to using chicken legs, I also used this scrub on a boneless skinless chicken (for strange people in my house who didn't like bones or chicken legs) and it was amazing. my picky 11 year old son tore him up. Thanks for sharing, I'm going to have dinner preparation for business lunch.
Do it now !!! Smells delicious! I grew up with chicken skin, healthy and alive, haha! Do you know how many years have passed since I made bone with skinned chicken? The stores don't sell anymore… everything is skinless and that's what I've been buying for years now. I want to know the organic benefits and Whole Foods was my choice. I'm dizzy with excitement! ? If I lived in the country I would buy it from a farmer, but oh, well!
Just made this and OMG sooo delicious! Thank you! I was just looking for recipes for bone in chicken skin and you have sent this wonderful recipe! No joke, I stood by me all the time while I was baking in the oven because I was happy to hear the sizzle while cooking.
Can't wait to do it !! It looks very simple and delicious! 2 Q: What do you use to wash the oven trays? Mine is stained with non-sticking grease and I use more aluminum foil than I want. Which meat thermometer do you use / recommend? Not everyone I didn't work with didn't work, and I beat them.
Hello Alejandra - I use a green scrubbing sponge to scrub the baking sheets after use. I also like my Thermapen meat thermometer. But if you want a cheaper option, this is also great: https://amzn.to/2HdD0uv

The Best Healthy Fast Food Options
Fast-food stores are plentiful and fast food has the reputation of being unhealthy, while an increasing number of large chains are adding more nutritious options to their menus.
Sockets that allow more customization of orders tend to have lower calorie or more feeder selections. However, there are currently healthy options on the menu of the largest fast-food chains.
In this article, we'll look at the overall calorie, fat and saturated fat content to find some of the healthiest options that seven big fast-food chains have to offer.
Note, however, that calories and fat are only two aspects of how healthy a meal is fed. If a person eats only fast food, it is not possible to get the necessary nutrients such as vitamins and fiber.
Sandwich with cheese and vegetables
One person can customize Subway sandwiches to choose healthy fillings.
Metro specialize in deli style sandwiches or "sub". As a person can customize every "sub", Subway can be one of the healthiest healthy fast-food chains.
Some of the best sandwich options are on the Subway's Fresh Fit menu. The 6-inch Turkey Breast sandwich with nine wheat bread contains 250 calories and 3 grams of fat, including 0.5 g of saturated fat.
A healthy vegetarian option, Veggie Delite in nine wheat bread. This "bottom" contains only 2 g calories, does not contain 2 g total fat and saturated fat. It also has one of the lowest sodium levels (salt) compared to other sandwiches.
Subway also offers salads that can be a low-calorie alternative to a sandwich. All salads include lettuce, tomatoes, spinach, onions, cucumbers, green peppers and olives.

2. Taco Bell
Taco Bell is another great fast-food chain with a variety of healthy options. The ability to personalize each order allows people to choose more vegetable-like nutrients.
According to Taco Bell's website, three-quarters of its menus are under 500 calories. Some of the lowest calorie options are the Fresco menu, which uses regular sauce and cheese instead of vegetable based salsa.
One of the healthiest options is Chicken Soft Taco. Each taco contains about 170 calories, 8 g fat, containing only 3 g of saturated fat.
Bean Burrito is a vegetarian option containing 11 g fat, 380 calories, including 4 g of saturated fat.
Vegetarian options are lower in fat than meat options.
Chipotle is a Mexican-style chain that specializes in tacos and burritos. Similar to Subway and Taco Bell, Chipotle allows people to customize their meals to include healthy choices.
Healthy options are burritos or white rice instead of white rice. In a chicken bowl bowl containing fresh tomato salsa and brown rice, there are 415 calories, 13 g fat and 4 g saturated fat.
For a lower calorie, vegetarian option, people can choose a plate of bean curd, brown rice and a sofritas patty with lettuce. It contains 365 calories, 10 g fat and 1.5 g saturated fat. Adding sauce will increase the number of calories.
McDonald's had the reputation of being unhealthy, but they recently reaffirmed themselves to offer a variety of fresh and nutritious ingredients. Some of these changes may be cosmetics, while McDonald's has better options.
Fillet-O-Fish contains 390 calories and 4 g of saturated fat from 19 g of total fat. Bacon Ranch Grilled Chicken Salad contains only 320 calories and 6 g of saturated fat from a total of 14 g.
5. Burger King
Burger King is one of the largest burger chains in the United States, but has a limited number of healthy options. But some choices are a little healthier than others.
It contains a normal, simple hamburger, 10 g total fat, 3.5 g saturated fat, and 240 calories. Grilled Chicken Sandwich contains 470 calories, 3.5 g saturated fat and 19 g fat.
BK Veggie Burger can be a healthier option among these examples. Contains 2,5 g of saturated fat, 390 calories and 17 g of fat.
Baked potato with knife, sour cream and cheese filling on plate
Baked potatoes can be a healthy fast-food option.
Wendy is another common fast-food chain that allows people to personalize their orders to make their choices healthier.
The menu of the chain is not abundant in healthy options, but some meals are able to customize to lower the calorie content.
Salads are also available, and if a person chooses some of the half-size salad choices, they can stay below 500 calories.
With a few vegetarian options at Wendy's, Sour Cream and Chive Baked Potatoes
