My husband loves sausage balls, but it's full of carbohydrates I normally do. So, as a special keto surprise, I was trying to create the perfect keto hot dog pie recipe. Most of my work was extremely dry, just like giving me a gallon of water before making another bite. So I started experimenting from the ground up to see if I could create a recipe that was both moist and delicious.
My first attempt, in my opinion, was a complete thumb down. Then I remembered my delicious keto biscuit recipe and how amazing the taste was. I thought I could arrange this recipe to make sausage balls to shoot my husband's socks. Because you can't get the dough into real balls because of the moisture content, I decided to call them Hot Dog Puffs. In fact, you do not have to waste time because it is much easier to do.
Since you do not spread them like more traditional sausage balls, I recommend using a cookie scoop. It works super fast and perfect for this recipe. In addition, cleaning is easier than using your hands to spin the balls.

I already felt that protein would be a problem because I wasn't sure how to fix it, and plain jane roasted or boiled chicken and so on. It's very tiring. They are really delicious! The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I'm not a fan of coconut / coconut flour. Otherwise they were great and my son even loved them! I wonder how they come out with almond flour?
Made with almond flour and hot chorizo ??sauce, it was like a bomb. My family who is not keto eats them! I found that putting “dough ına in the refrigerator would make it harder for about an hour. I did just half the recipe and left 2 dozen! I guess because there is more bulk with almond flour? Delish, thanks for the recipe!
I'm glad I found you recently because I found out my husband is allergic to almonds and egg whites. We've been keto 18 months, so the poor guy got infected and I didn't even know! You ever freeze these sausage balls? I need a "do it ahead" brunch to attend a brunch, but it will be a few days before the event and will be away from home. I'd love to get out of the freezer and reheat it.
These are delicious! I'll definitely do it again. I'm fighting breakfast because I don't like eggs. They don't taste eggs and you can't say that coconut flour is used. I think the sausage and cheese are probably covering up.
