These Paleo and Vegan French Fried Onions are much more healthy and delicious than the store's purchase version, and you'll love the stew and even how crispy they are on their own!

Although I love all the holiday stews, I've been using French fried onions in recent years, because they're not an option for those who are gluten-free and try to stay away from processed foods.

Amanda. There are too many unnecessary components I don't want to put into my body. However, I love this crispy crunchy as a great thing for most of my dishes, so I decided to make my own clean version. This Paleo and Vegan French Fried Onions was surprisingly easy and super cheat addictive and delicious!

The best part is that it takes less than 30 minutes to do. I especially appreciate the simple and easy recipes when I host a holiday dinner and have 12 things to eat at the same time.

These Paleo and Vegan French Fried Onions can use stew, soup, salad, baked potatoes or on their own. They actually ate fried onion rings, so half of them soaked in my home made paleo ketchup. I had to tear it up because I couldn't stop eating them!

Paleo & Vegan French Fried Onions

These Paleo and Vegan French Fried Onions are much healthier and more delicious than the store's purchase version, and you'll love the stew and even how crispy they are on their own!

If your choice is a wide pan of cooking oil, pour up to about 1 inch depth of oil and heat over medium heat. Prepare a large plate with 2-3 fold paper towels.

Use a tong or fork to transfer a handful of onion from coconut milk to the flour mixture.

Coat the excess flours and dust, then fry in pan for 30 seconds on both sides or until crispy and golden brown.

Transfer paper towel covered plate. Repeat this process until all the onions are fried, add as much oil as necessary to the pan.

Use it in a stew or put ketchup on your own!

You can't taste coconut, but you can try using cassava flour and I think it should work. I never tried, but I can't guarantee the results. You can add or add to the stew in the last 5 minutes.
